Lunchtime Live with ~*Sister Soldier*~ “Jesus is my Everything”

In this walk we are on with Jesus we must sell out. I know that is a bold statement, but you know me well enough to know by now that I come out the gate hard. Almost 27 years ago Jesus called me out of this world into His marvelous light. He took me from the streets and turned me into the woman you see today. For those that know me personally, they know I am not a weak woman. This is not from my own personal strength. This comes from the strength that comes from my Lord Jesus. Yes, I was strong in the natural but when Jesus called me into this journey with Him, He gave me a different type of strength. He remade me in His image and is still shaping me and forming me daily. When you walk with Him it is a daily process of sanctification. However, when you truly walk with Him, he becomes your everything. When you truly allow yourself to fall in Love with the Lord Jesus it is easy and you don’t question the process of sanctification He has you on. So when I say He is my everything, that is an easy statement and a true statement for me. I want to share a few things with you today that I have learned while walking with the Lord. I pray they help you along your journey.

1. As I said above, Jesus is my everything. You have to decide to sell out for this life with Him. It is like a marriage. You must be faithful. It is a choice. He gives us free will and He wants us to love him just like He loves us… Freely. With that being said, even though He gives us free will to follow and Love Him we must remember that this is a commandment. The Bible says it is the greatest commandment as a matter of fact.

a. Mark 12:30-31 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

i. So as you can see from this scripture, Loving Him is not only a way of life it is a commandment. Also, I have learned though the leading of the Holy Ghost that when you fulfill the first commandment of loving the Lord Thy God with your whole heart, mind, soul and strength fulfilling the second verse is easy, because it’s not your love that is flowing it is the overflow of His.

2. Learn to cooperate with the Holy Ghost. While we are on this journey there will be many situations that the enemy (devil) sends to distract you from your walk with Jesus. If you draw near to him, you will learn to hear His voice and be lead by His Spirit.

a. Romans 8:14 says For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

b. 2 Peter 1:21 This book is talking about putting on the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ, but vs. 21 of this book says, “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” This lets us know that they were led by the Holy Ghost. We must learn to follow as The Spirit leads. Yielding to His loving, guiding hand.

c. Jesus speaking here in John16:13 says, “ Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” He says here that the Spirit of truth (which according to John 14:26 is the Holy Ghost) shall guide you into all truth.

d. Galatians 5:16 Says, “This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Again, it is up to us to follow. We must yield our will unto the will of God. We must listen for His voice and learn to follow as He leads. When he says move, move. When He says stand still… by all means, stand still. If he speaks a word to you for yourself or another, hide it in your heart or give it to them as He gives it to you. Learn to lean not to your own understanding but unto every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God so that we do not fall to the lust of the flesh.

3. Choose to shake the world or Jesus. When we are called out of the world into His marvelous light and we are born again of the water and the spirit through repentance, baptism in Jesus name and being filled with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in other tongues, we are then told to go out into the world and be a witness to others of the full gospel of Jesus Christ that they may be saved from their sins as well.

a. Mark 6:7 says Calling the twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.

b. Acts 1:8 says, But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

c. Let’s also look at Matthew 5:16 which says, let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

d. Furthermore, Luke 14:23 says, And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. We know this to be a type and shadow of the Lord sending us out into the highways and byways to seek the lost souls that he longs to have in Heaven.

We are called to be witnesses and we are called to walk in Jesus’ example of seeking to save that which was lost. We are to shake this world for Jesus and win souls. This is a choice, once again. We must choose to follow Jesus’ example and seek and reach to the lost souls of this world. It is our choice. There goes that free will again. The Lord knew we would face decisions like this. This is why he told us to make our election and calling sure… This is found in 2 Peter 1:10-11 and I am aware that this book is talking about putting on the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ as previously stated… However, this is where it all begins. When we make our election and calling sure, that means we make up our minds to follow Jesus. We do not shake the world for Jesus by our own means… We do it by the leading of the Holy Ghost and the power that is given us after we are filled with the Holy Ghost. As stated above, The Bible says in Acts 1:8 Ye shall have power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you. So not only does He call us to be witness to the whole world and He equips us to do so. That is my Jesus. He will give us all we need to accomplish what He has called us to do.

4. The next point I want to make is this: Depend on the Power of the Holy Ghost. Everything we do must come from and through Him. We are not called to do things of our own power. We must learn to lean not to our own understanding, but we must learn to trust God in all things. It is always Him, He is our everything… It is never us. This is not our fight, it is his.

a. He told us in Mathew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

This tells me we do not have to do the heavy lifting in this journey. All we have to do is say, “Let your will be done Lord” and then follow as He leads us.

5. This brings me to my next point… We don’t have to understand it, we just have to be obedient to God’s voice and His word. {Side note: In the Bible there are two words translated from the Greek which both are found as the word “word”. There is the Logos which is the written word of God (the Bible) and the Rhema which is the spoken word of God (that still small voice). Both refer to communication from our Lord Jesus. And YES, He still speaks to us. It is up to us to quiet ourselves enough to listen and hear his voice.}

a. Matthew 7:24-25 says 24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

b. John 14:15 Jesus speaking here says, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.

i. In this book Jesus is talking about who He is and that He and the Father are one. In the midst of this He says, If ye love me, keep my commandments.

c. In Vs. 16 & 17 he goes on to say, “16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; 17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

i. So this tells me that keeping his commandments and the comforter coming to abide with us are hinged together. Simple. We don’t have to understand it, we just need to obey.

d. The Bible also says in 1 Sam 15:22: And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

i. Here we see Samuel explaining that to obey the voice of the LORD is better than any sacrifice we can give him. Nothing material can replace giving ourselves as a living sacrifice unto the Lord.

6. Next, let’s look at this “living sacrifice” statement a little deeper. It is actually my next point.

a. In Romans 12:1 it says I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.

i. This book was written by Paul, via the hand of Tertius who adds his own greeting in Romans 16:22. We find Paul here telling us that our bodies are a to be a living sacrifice. We also know that Paul said that he died daily in 1 Cor. 15:31.

b. Also, going back to the beginning of this teaching we are commanded to love the Lord our God with our whole heart, mind, soul and strength. That is mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Therefore, this tells me that we are to surrender our entire being to Him, a living sacrifice for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. Still we must choose to fulfil this commandment in surrendering our will to His will for our lives. It’s a choice. What will you choose?

7. The next thing I want to share with you is that we must learn to praise and worship Jesus on a deeper level. In making yourself a living sacrifice, you learn that Jesus and His love is so great towards us that it is overwhelming. When you truly think of His sacrifice for us on the cross, you can’t help but love and worship Him. The Bible says that all honor, praise and glory are due Him.

a. Revelations 4:11 says Thou are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

i. This refers to us as well. He created man just like he created everything else on the earth. Therefore all our praise, honor and glory is due to Him.

b. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

i. This becomes very easy to do when you begin to have a real relationship with Jesus and you begin to fall in love with Him. His love is so great towards us that if you allow him to reveal himself to you it is easy to love him. This great love will cause you to long to worship Him and praise His name.

c. Psalm 34:1-3 says I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

i. This book was written by King David in a series of songs written to the Lord. His love for God was poured out in worship as a perfect example of how we are to praise and worship our Lord.

8. Now I want to talk about something that I learned that most don’t want to touch on. If you have never been called to preach… DON’T DO IT! Over the years as I grew up in the Lord, I quickly learned that not every preacher was called of God. Now coming from the streets, I had no idea that every man of God was not truly called by God, but after I was baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Ghost, Jesus began to reveal things to me about the people around me. I quickly learned that every one that called him Lord, Lord was not of Him. They did not walk in a calling of preaching the word that was sent from God. Some were walking in the calling from their Mama, their auntie Sue, their cousin Mable. This is a dangerous place to be. If you are not called to a position (be it preaching, teaching, ministering, etc.) and you try to walk in it saying God called you to it, you are living a lie and not in the will of God. Be mindful of this. Be sensitive to the voice of God and know when and where you have been called so that you can stay in that vein of the Holy Ghost and stay under the anointing of God for your life. Let HIM call you, not a man or woman.

On the flip side of this IF you have been called BY GOD to preach, then do it with your whole heart. Surrender everything you have and all that you are to His will. Heart, mind, soul and strength. No sacrifice you give to the calling of God will be made in vain. He will protect you, keep you, lead you and watch for you. IF you allow Him to. Trust Him and step out on faith that He has called, ordained and will anoint you for the position HE has created you for. Know that His word is true that says he will be with you always. Do not allow the spirit of fear or any devil in hell stop you from this calling. Walk in meekness before the Lord, seeking His face and allowing the word of God and the anointing of God to flow through you. It is amazing when you walk in the will of God in your true calling from God. Listen for His voice and follow Him as He leads.

9. This brings me to the next thing I learned while on this journey. Have solid convictions about your calling. Once you step into the calling of God on your life and the will of God is working in your life, you will begin to see Him use you to reach people that others don’t even want to talk to in the supermarket. You will see the Holy Ghost move and people be humbled under the power of the Lord Jesus and their lives begin to change. Once you step into this arena you MUST search yourself daily that you do not get distracted or fall to the spirit of deception. You must MAKE YOUR ELECTION SURE, AND WALK IN THE CONVICTION OF YOUR CALLING, applying all the steps above to your walk. You must remain humble that you do not fall from this calling. You must make up in your mind, heart, body, strength and soul that you will not bend nor bow to any spirit but the spirit of the living God. satan (not capitalized on purpose) only has three weapons. Lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life. The lust of the eyes is that first look taken at temptation. The lust of the flesh is that second look that says, “oh that looks good, let me get a little closer.” The pride of life is the lie hell tells you that says, “oh, I’m a good person. I work hard and I don’t hurt no one. Look at me, I am working for the Lord. His grace will cover me… You know what? I deserve that.” Then next comes the fall. The Bible says Pride comes before a fall. This I know to be true, for I am not speaking from a virgin voice. I can not sit and testify to you about these things I have learned if I have not experienced the test that gave me the testimony. Take it from one that knows and loves you enough to tell you straight up. Guard your calling with your very soul. Lay down your life for it. Once you begin this journey of walking in the calling that God has on your life, never look back. Just like Elisha, he gave up everything to follow after Elijah and sought with his whole heart a double portion of the anointing on Elijah’s life. He endured to the end and received the anointing because He made his election sure. He told his family goodbye, he sold his oxen (that was his way of making a living) and gave up his home. He walked away from everything to run after the calling that was on his life. If we are to fully walk in the calling God placed on our lives we must walk in the conviction of that calling with our whole heart.

10. Last but not least, you must know in your heart of hearts that God is perfect. There is no shadow of turning in Him. He knows what is best for us. Trust that He knows the end to the beginning, and He knows what we need and what we don’t need in our lives that will push us into the destiny that he has for us. Walk softly before Him as you travel on this journey in the Calling that he has placed on your life. Allow Him to show you who you are in Him. Do not listen to the voices of this world or hell that will speak contrary to what He has spoken into your life. Know that He is God and no other can compare to Him. He is King of all kings and Lord of all lords and the best thing is He loves you. Just like you are, He said to you, come. All who are weary and heavy laden come unto me and I shall give you rest. He loves you. He loves us all. So now walk forward with confidence in the calling HE has on your life knowing that He is perfect and that he will never leave you nor forsake you. He will keep you and be a strong tower for you to run into in times of trouble. He will and has equipped you for the task He has called you to, so walk in it in confidence. Not in arrogance, which is pride, but in confidence that He is your Daddy and he Loves you. Knowing that He has called you to this and will bring you through it. He has never started anything in us that He will not complete, because he is perfect.

I pray that this has been a help to you. I just wanted to share a little knowledge that God has given me through His grace and mercy along my journey. God bless each of you and remember… Allow Jesus to be your everything.
