“Heart Attack”

(Inspired by God’s voice to my heart on 3/29/2014)

Heart attack is defined as a sudden, painful & dangerous condition in which your heart stops working as it was designed to work.

When a person has a heart attack it affects the whole body. When we as believers are wounded & we build walls to stop our heart from being hurt we block with those walls the part of our heart that the anointing of God flows out of us to others. Therefore our heart (spiritually) is not working as it was designed to work. This is a spiritual heart attack.

Let’s look at what the word says about a spiritual heart attack:

            Psalm 55:3-14

3 Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.

4 My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me.

5 Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.

Then in vs. 13 it says:

13 But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance.

14 We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company.

~The enemy seldom uses people that we are not close to, to harm us. He uses our loved ones, our most trusted & adored because with them our guard is down & we have a trust with them./ Therefore we don’t build walls. Our spouses, our children, our families, our prayer partners, our sisters & brother (both natural and spiritual). We trust & love them but at times the attack on us comes through the ones closest to us! The enemy uses our love for them against us! We end up asking things like “how could someone that loves me betray me & hurt me so badly?” & “how could I have been so stupid & so blind not to realize?” Then the self-condemnation comes in (which by the way is NOT of God!!) And we blame ourselves. At this point we lose trust & shut our hearts down & build our walls & vow to NEVER love or trust anyone again! And when we do this our hearts that were designed to love are no longer allowed to work to the fullest capacity that they were designed! At that point we are having a SPIRITUAL

HEART ATTACK.

Let’s look a little deeper:

~When we have a physical heart attack we develop fears of a repeat attack. We sometimes don’t realize the depths of these fears but our whole life changes after a heart attack. We become fearful at every pain. Every shortness of breath, we have flash backs! Therefore we watch what we eat & we move slower as to not strain our heart, when in reality … after a resting & healing period … the only way to make the heart muscle stronger again is to work out! Same thing happens in the spiritual! BUT in spite of the fear of being hurt again we must forgive & learn to trust God & love again so HE can flow through us again & He can use us in the proper manner that HE created us to be used! We must heal & allow God to fix us because the condition of our heart even affects our salvation.

Jesus said in Luke 21:26

26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

And in Luke 21:34 (Jesus speaking)

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

~We must take heed, pay attention to who & what we allow in our lives for the enemy comes disguised as an angel of light

2 Corinthians 11:14

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

~Make yourself aware of your surroundings!

Matthew 10:16

16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

~Jesus wants us to be able to handle the attacks that come & yet still be gentle enough to open our hearts & love others without fear so our hearts are open to allow HIS love & HIS anointing to flow through us to others! He wants us to live in peace not in fear.

Jesus said in John 14:27:

John 14:27

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

He also said in John 14:1:

John 14:1

14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

~We must put aside our fears & walk boldly in God’s will for our lives. Love without fear!

2 Tim 1:7 says:

7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

~We must protect our hearts!

Prov 4:23 says:

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it flows the matters of life.

~We must guard against iniquities of this world!

Matt 24:12

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

~We can’t allow our love to wax cold. If we do then it will not flow through our hearts to others as our hearts were designed to have it flow to others. Love is a gift to us & God has called us with two great commandments…

Matthew 22:37-40

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

~God has commanded us to love! We are not only to love him, but each other as well. If we are having a heart attack we can’t love the way we are designed & commanded to! If we have our walls up around our heart we are blocking the love of God! As well as our love from flowing to others as God has commanded.

~So now, we must examine our own selves! I pray, search me Oh Lord to see if there be any unclean thing in me.

But we must also ask ourselves the hard questions:

1. Do you have walls up that are blocking your love & God’s love to flow through you to others?

2. Do you have un-forgiveness in your heart?

“I did & didn’t even realize it until God revealed it to me. I truly thought I had forgiven.”

Ask yourself, is my heart working as God designed it to work or am I having a heart attack?

~If you find that you are having a heart attack, go the next step & ask God to help you heal & create in you a clean heart & renew in you a right spirit. Allow HIM to use you again!

The healing process is easy:

1. Identify the area of hurt.

2. Forgive the one that hurt you. Truly forgive.

3. Forgive yourself for feeling what you feel.

4. Ask God to forgive the ones that hurt you & don’t hold this to their charge.

5. Ask God to forgive you for your part in it.

6. Begin to walk & love again…

YOU ARE FREE…

~I pray this helps you. It comes from a healed heart. For I once had a spiritual heart attack & God healed me… In HIS mercy & grace HE healed ME!!

He can heal you too…

JESUS LOVES US!!
